Biographical Collection

Already Johannes Winckelmann collected memories of Max Weber contemporaries and biographical material on Weber as well as on the people surrounding him. There are also translations of his writings as well as artistic presentations.

Writings, pictures, photos and copies of all documents are located at the Max Weber Office Munich.

Expansions of the Collection

The descendants of the Swiss pianist Mina Tobler (1880-1967) made a donation to the "Max Weber office": dedicatory copies, photographs of Max Weber and the mocha cups from which Max Weber drank his coffee at Mina Tobler's on the "Sabbath".

The German-American sociologist Guenther Roth (1948-2019) has been closely associated with the MWG since its beginnings. To write Max Weber's family history, he collected valuable biographical and photographic material from various countries, often from private collections. His widow donated this unique collection to the "Max Weber office".
